Colombia and FARC in historic peace deal
Colombians celebrate end of five decades of conflict
The Colombian government reached a final peace deal with Marxist FARC rebels, as the militia agreed to lay down weapons and assimilate into civilian life. It's been almost four years of peace talks mediated by the government of Cuba. After the results were announced, Colombians took to the streets to celebrate the end of the conflic which has been an obstacle for the full progress in the resource rich country. Colombians will vote on a plebiscit in October to ratify the deal.
Investors believe the impact of the deal will be reflected on the country's economic development on the long run.
